There are two categories: Top Safety Pick, and Top Safety Pick+. All 5 Volkswagens qualified for the second category! This means – at minimum – they received the highest rating in the five crashworthiness tests, as well as an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention.

The Golf GTI received ‘good’ ratings, the highest rating possible on all five crashworthiness factors for the IIHS 2016 Top Safety Picks. This model also received an ‘advanced’ rating on front crash prevention, with optional equipment including Front Assist and Autonomous Emergency Braking.

Jetta
